Isabelle Ozkurt

My name is Isabelle Ozkurt and I am a senior at Ithaca College studying Journalism and politics. I am also one of the captains on the nationally ranked Ithaca Women’s Crew team. I am from Portsmouth, New Hampshire and I hope that my career path will keep me along the east coast.

 

After studying journalism for the last three years I fell in love with the grit and determination that it took to be a journalist. I love the idea of long hours of research and the intensity that comes with harsh deadlines. Throughout my college experience I entertained the ideas of many different career paths but with graduation around the corner I realized that I no longer wanted to be a journalist and I would rather work on the legal side of things.

 

After graduation my plan is to work as a legal assistant in Boston as I continue to prepare for the LSAT and decide what law schools I would like to apply to. Studying journalism has led me to realize that I would like to study entertainment and media law. I would like to help journalist fight their legal battles so the world can continue to have honest journalism.

 

After taking a journalism law course at Ithaca College I fell in love with the idea of working along the sides of those who do great reporting and the fight they may embark on to let the public have access to that information. Even though I may not want to do the reporting myself I want to be part of something that will have an influence on the public.
